For the fourth year running, Europartnerships will work with the Trade Council to deliver their ‘flagship’ export development programme for Icelandic exporting companies. Designed to follow on from the long established UH programme for beginners in export, the 2009/2010 UTSTIM programme supports participants as they prepare for the search, selection and effective management of agents and distributors, as well as participation in an export project focusing on a selected overseas market. This year 5 companies are taking part.
As demand for export training for small and medium sized companies (SMEs) grows, Europartnerships is pleased to be working in partnership with export support agencies in Spain and Iceland to deliver interactive strategy programmes for exporters. The latest groups to benefit are 9 SME owners/managers in Reykjavik, in a one-day workshop held in May 2010, sponsored by the Trade Council of Iceland, and 20 masters students participating in a one-year international trade programme during 2010-2011 sponsored by the Alava Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Basque Country.
